Аннотация

Целью данной работы была оценка роли и значения острова Пасхи в аспекте научных взгля-дов Тура Хейердала о развитии и взаимосвязи древних цивилизаций; рассмотрение в историческом плане проблемы птицелюдей на острове, а также важнейших концепций заселения острова с уче-том фольклорного наследия. Остров Пасхи с его загадочной историей и уникальной культурой изучали многие исследователи: в XX в. экспедиции возглавили К. Раутледж, А. Метро, Т. Хейердал, Ф. Мазьер. Исследования последнего (равно как и Т. Хейердала) во многом опередили свое время, они подробно рассмотрены в данной работе.

Изучение 26 фольклорных текстов (23 записаны А. Метро, 3 взяты из рукописи Х. Хаоа) вы-являет их большое своеобразие: этиологические черты, анимистические представления, почти пол-ное отсутствие богов полинезийского пантеона. Это говорит о существенной роли архаической составляющей. Из мифов следует, что к моменту прибытия Хоту Матуа остров был заселен. Настрой мифов воинственный.

Очевидно существование на острове высокоразвитой цивилизации (первая раса по Ф. Мазье-ру), далее (IV–V в.в.) следует волна «просвещенных» переселенцев и, наконец, поздняя (примерно XV в.) - воинственных островитян с достаточно архаичной культурой. Идея и теоретическое обос-нование функционирования ранних аху и «классических» статуй принадлежит высокоразвитой ци-вилизации. Культ птицелюдей на острове имеет глубокие корни в мифотворчестве разных наро-дов. На острове Пасхи отмечается связь птицелюдей с табличками ронго-ронго и с культурой других стран, прежде всего Древнего Египта.

Согласно исследованиям Т. Хейердала, примерно в 3100г. до н.э возникают три великие цивилизации: Древний Египет, Индская, Месопотамская, а также Южной и Центральной Америки. По археологическим данным, наблюдается резкий переход от примитивных к артефактам высокоразвитых цивилизаций. Эти цивилизации были связаны друг с другом, прежде всего морскими путями. Остров Пасхи был важным стратегическим объектом на путях, соединяющих континенты, в первую очередь, на пути к центру Тихого океана. В настоящее время стратегическое значение острова сохраняется, особенно в связи с сооружением посадочной полосы для американских космических аппаратов.

Статуи острова Пасхи, наряду с культово-религиозной, выполняли важные трансокеанические и трансконтинентальные функции. Статуи имеют мировоззренческое значение и, как сказал Ф. Мазьер, навсегда останутся олицетворением Другого знания.

Abstract

Shamanina Natalya. Easter Island.

The purpose of this work is (i) the evaluation of the role and the significance of Easter Island in the context of Thor Heyerdahl's views on the development and connection between ancient civilizations; (ii) analysis from the historical perspective of the Birdman cult on the island; and (iii) the examination of the major theories of the settlement of the island, including the island's folklore. Easter Island with its mysterious history and unique culture has been a subject many explorers: expeditions in the twentieth century were headed by such explorers as Katherine Routledge, Alfred Metraux, Thor Heyerdahl and Francis Maziere. The research and studies by Maziere as well as by Heyerdahl, wich are examined in detail in this paper, were in many aspects ahead of their time.

Analysis of 26 folkloric works, 23 of wich were written down by Alfred Metraux and 3 from a manuscript by Juan Haoa, reveals their unique distinctiveness: etiological features, anymistic concepts and almost complete absence of gods from the Polynesian pantheon. The island's myths imply that by time Hotu Matu'a arrived the island had already been settled. The mood of the myths is generallly warlike.

There is evidence of the existence on the island of a highly developed civilization (first race according to Maziere), then folloved in IV – Vth centuries AD by a wave of “enlightened” settlers, and finally around XVth centure by a later wave of militant islanders with a relatively arhaic heritage. The concept and the theoretical basis for the existence of early Ahu and “classical” statues belongs to a highly developed civilization. The Birdman cult on the island is deeply rooted in the mythology of different people. On Easter Island there is a noticeable connection of the Birdman cult with rongorongo tablets and the culture of other countries, primarily Ancient Egypt.

According to research by Heyerdahl, around 3100 BC three great civilizations emerge: Ancient Egypt, India, Mesopotamia, and that of South and Central America. According to the archeological evi-dence there is a marked and quick transition from primitive artefacts to those by highly developed civilizations. These civilizations were primarily connected with each other by sea routes. Easter Island was an important strategic object on the routes connecting continents, primarily on the way to the Central Pacific ocean. Currently the island continues to play strategic importance, as evidenced by the expansion of a landing strip to accommodate American space shuttles.

Statues of Easter Island played important transoceanic and transcontinental as well as religions and cult functions. The statues have an important philosophical meaning and as expressed by Maziere, will forever remain an embodiment of a Different knowledge.
